Iran, one of the largest producer of DRI in world has witnessed an increase in DRI production. As per IMIDRO, Major steel manufacturers of Iran has produced 18,961,452 MT DRI during last Persian year 1396 (21 Mar- 20 Mar’18). Production was up by around 14% Y-o-Y.
1- Mobarekah Steel was the largest manufacture of DRI in Iran during last Persian year, the company produced around 7,325,031 MT DRI, registered a growth of 11% Y-o-Y.
2- Khouzestan Steel was the second largest DRI producer during the last Persian year. The company produced 3,993,263 MT DRI in last year by registering a growth of 8% Y-o-Y.
3- Other major producers includes HOSCO (1,500,406 MT), South Kaveh Steel (1,580,607 MT), Khorasan Steel (1,244,882 MT) and Saba Steel (1,129,663 MT).
Iran Billet and Bloom Production by Major Steel Companies Increases by 29% Y-o-Y
Major Iranian steel manufacturers has produced 7,147,101 MT of billet and bloom during the last Persian year, registered a growth of 29% Y-o-Y.
1- Khouzestan Steel Company was the largest producer of billet and bloom in last Persian year, the company produced 2,328,728 MT of billet and bloom during the period, registered a growth of 6% Y-o-Y.
2- Esfahan Steel Company was the second largest producer of billet and bloom in last Persian year. The company produced 2,275,889 MT bloom in last Persian year, by registering a growth of 4% Y-o-Y.
3- Khorasan Steel was the third largest producer of billet and bloom, followed by South Kaveh Steel and Iran Alloy Steel Company with production of 847,463 MT billet, 825,976 MT billet and 397,811 MT bloom.

1- Mobarekah Steel Company was the largest producer of Slab last Persian year. The company produced 6,450,626 MT during the period, registered a growth of 14% Y-o-Y.
2- Khouzestan Steel was the second largest producer of slab in the nation during the period. The company produced 1,436,861 MT of slab in last Persian year, registered a growth of 1% Y-o-Y.
3- Hormozgan Steel, a subsidiary of MSC, was the third largest producer of slab in last Persian year, followed by Saba Steel. The companies produced 1,408,242 MT and 808,158 MT respectively with growth of 23% and 22% Y-o-Y respectively.
