The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) a nationwide representative body of the Japanese steel industry reported that HDG* production in the country has dropped by 8.4% on M-O-M basis.
Production dropped by 6.6% on Y-o-Y basis in June reaching to an amount of 956,000/MT. JISF's report mentioned that HDG exports reached a total of 351,000/MT in June, which dropped by 11.9% in May.
Total shipments to Thailand declined by 16%, thus amounting to 91,000/MT, followed by China which dropped by 17% to 71,000/MT and South Korea which dropped by 21% to 29,000/MT.
JISF members include the country's major iron and steel producers, trading companies, and organizations engaged in steel distribution.
