The Government of Indian has decided to come out with a New Steel Policy by the year-end to look into the issues of demand, raw material linkage and infrastructure, said the steel secretary P.K. Mishra at the fifth India Steel Summit.
The new national policy and vision document on the steel sector will project a medium term horizon of 10 years and also a long-term vision of 25 years.
The new steel policy is also expected to help the industry address challenges such as land acquisition and raw material security.
