According to latest release by Russian customs data, flat steel exports which includes (7208 HR coils/Plates,7209 – CR coils, 7210, 7212 GP/GC and 7225 electrical sheets) witness significant decline of 23% on monthly basis in Feb’18 against previous month.Country has exported 0.61MnT in Feb’18 which was assessed at 0.79 MnT in Jan’18.
In the month of February large sales of HRC to the CIS domestic market has lead to shortage of material rather than any improvement in export market.Thus Russian steel mills raised the export offers amid limited availability which results to decline in export volumes.
Meanwhile on yearly basis,nation’s flat steel exports plunged by 26% in Feb’18 in comparison with 0.82 MnT ,a year ago.
During first two months (Jan-Feb) of CY18 country’s flat steel exports stood at 1.4 MnT,moved down by 4% against 1.46 MnT in corresponding time frame of previous year.

Country-wise Russia Flat Steel Exports in Feb’18-Turkey was major flat steel importer of Russia and has imported 0.18 MnT of flat steel,fell by 10% against 0.20 MnT in Jan’18.
Second largest importer was Belarus with 0.05 MnT in Feb’18,fell by 17% against 0.06 MnT in previous month.
Meanwhile Iran imported 0.03 MnT of flat steel in Feb’18,down by 40% as compared to 0.05 MnT in Jan’18.Other major flat steel importers of flat steel were USA 0.05 MnT, followed by Uzbekistan 0.03 MnT and Egypt at 0.33 MnT.
