India: JSPL’s Crude Steel Output Climbs 16% in FY18

JSPL (Jindal Steel and Power Limited) has recorded highest ever monthly crude steel output in the the month of Mar’18.The company’s crude steel output stood at 0.45 MnT in Mar’18,surged by 55% on yearly basis against Mar’17 when it stood at 0.29 MnT.

However on quarterly basis company’s crude steel output in Q4 FY18 stood was recorded at 1.26 MnT witnessing significant increase of 30% in Q4FY18.In Q3FY18 the same stood at 0.97 MnT.

In FY18, JSPL’s crude steel production from India operations stood at 4.02 MnT, compared to 3.47 MnT in FY17. Thus company’s output has climbed by 16% Y-o-Y.

“With the 250 MT basic oxygen furnace (BOF) going operational in December 2017 end, we are in a position to progressively harness the full capacity levels of our 3.2 MTPA blast furnace”, Mr. N A Ansari, CEO Steel, JSPL said.

In India, the company has two integrated steel plants in Raigarh and Angul where it produces steel.

JSPLhas successfully completed a 250 Ton Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) marking the completion of its 6 MTPA integrated steel project at Angul, Odisha in Dec’17. The company has one more steel plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh with a capacity of 3.6 MTPA
