Imported offers of HRC to Bangladesh from China rose marginally by USD 5-10/MT on weekly premises amid uptick in Chinese steel prices. Chinese steel prices have edged up. However trades have remained limited amid Tomb sweeping festival which has started from 5th April.
Currently imported offers of HRC to Bangladesh from major mills in China is assessed at USD 645-655/MT CFR Chittagong. Last week the offers were prevailing around USD 645/MT CFR Chittagong.
Buying activity remains limited as end users are eyeing for lower offers.
Meanwhile price indication from Japanese steel mills for imported HRC to Bangladesh is still awaited.
Bangladesh bulk steel coil imports were recorded at 847,698 MT in FY18 – According to vessel line up data maintained with SteelMint, bulk steel coil imports to Bangladesh stood at 603,748 MT so far in FY18 (Jul’17-Mar’18).Imports have been made majorly from Japan and Malaysia.
