• Outside state-based units procurement from NMDC up by 8%
• Sourcing from within state based units remained stable on monthly premises
• Movement for exports declined by 26%
India’s largest iron ore miner, NMDC supplied 375 rakes of iron ore in Mar’18, depicting marginal rise as against supply in Feb’18, recorded at 368 rakes. The miner had cut its prices by INR 90-120/t for March deliveries, due to large Odisha miners resuming operation on receiving consent from Supreme Court. The miner had kept prices unchanged in Feb’18 except for a small reduction of INR 30/MT in DR-CLO.
C.G. based units procurement remained stable in Mar’18:
Procurement of NMDC iron ore by Chhattisgarh based units remained almost stable at 41 rakes in Mar’18 as against 40 rakes in Feb’18 by units within the state. However the procurement is still lower as in generaly, CG based units procure 65-70 rakes of iron ore every month from NMDC, Chhattisgarh. Sponge iron prices witnessed a downwards movement in Mar’18.
Procurement by outside C.G based units increased by 8%:
The procurement by units outside C.G., increased by 8% M-o-M to 286 rakes in Mar’18 as against 264 rakes in Feb’18.
RINL has increased iron ore sourcing from NMDC Bailadila mines by 19% M-o-M in Mar’18 to 178 rakes as compared to 150 rakes in Feb’18. JSW Steel, Dolvi sourcing from NMDC in Mar’18 recorded at 60 rakes in line with sourcing in Feb ’18, which stood at 61 rakes.
KIOCL loaded 37 iron ore rakes from NMDC in Mar’18, against 38 rakes in Feb’18.
Movement for Exports decreased by 26%:
NMDC’s iron ore exports decreased by 26% in Mar’18 to 40 rakes as against 54 rakes in Feb’18.
