SCCL Attains Coal Production Target for FY18

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has achieved its annual coal production target of 62 MnT, by producing 62.01 MnT coal in FY18. In the process, the company had hit an all time high monthly production of 7.37 MnT in Mar’18, which was 3% higher on the year compared with 7.18 MnT in Mar’17.

The coal company operating in the state of Telangana, has been recording progressive growth in coal production since FY15. Total yearly production in FY18 had increased 1.11% Y-o-Y from 61.34 MnT in FY17.

SCCL, likewise CIL, had focused more on liquidating the excess coal that had been stocked during the beginning of FY17. Consequently, SCCL had recorded coal dispatch of 64.62 MnT during FY18, which was 2.61 MnT more the actual coal production.

SCCL’s yearly coal dispatch had registered a remarkable growth of 6.23% Y-o-Y from 60.83 MnT in FY17, which was also 4.22% more than its projected annual target of 62 MnT.

Area-wise Coal Production in FY18:
SCCL procured 86% of the total coal output from the Open cast projects, while the remaining 8.31 MnT coal had came from underground mining in FY18.

Highest coal production was attained at the Kothagudem region, followed by Ramagundam-I, Ramagundam-II and Bellampalli.

Out of the 11 mining areas of SCCL, production from Manuguru and Adriyala regions had declined during the year. While, only 5 regions namely- Kothagudem, Manuguru, Ramagundam-III, Ramagundam-III and Bellampalli, had attained their respective production targets for FY18.
