Hormozgan Steel, a subsidiary of Mobarekah Steel and one of the largest producer and exporter of slab in Iran has produced around 1.40 MnT of slab in last Persian year of 1396. As per Mr. Mohammad Jafar Parsi, Deputy Head of Operation Hormozgan Steel Company, “More than 1.40 MnT of slab was produced in last Persian year of 1396, registered a growth of 23% as compared to the production in 1395.”
Asking about the main reason for growth in production of slab, he said “The reason for this growth is change in the management’s attitude; that is the working-class systems in the organization were flowing. Also, our slab sales prices were better than last year.
He continued “When the price decreases, the demand is low and supply is high. We do business based on sales orders, which may reduce production at some point of time because we do not manufacture the product in excess. When the price increases, the order is large, we produce accordingly. The process, conditions, changing some procedures and increasing the use of teamwork systems could increase the production.”
He added “It is not be noted that in the year 1396, the production of pellets in the country also increased. In 1395, due to lack of pellets we had to stop production, unlike this year where production was smooth.”
Talking about the production plan for new Persian year Mr. Mohammad Jafar Parsi said “The nominal capacity of the company is 1.50 MnT and our plan for this year is utilize the complete capacity and to produce about 1.50 MnT of slabs.
