As per the data by IMIDRO, Major Iranian steelmakers managed to export around 6.56 MnT of Steel in first 11 months of current Persian year (21 March-2017 till 19 February-2018). Export increased by around 39% Y-o-Y against 4.72 MnT exported last year in same period.
Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC), the largest exporter in Iran
Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) was the largest exporter during the period, the company exported around 2.51 MnT steel during the period. The company witnessed a growth of around 49% Y-o-Y against 1.68 MnT steel exported last year same period.
Bloom has the major share in KSC’s export, the company exported 1,052,183 MT in current Persian year, registered a growth of 153% Y-o-Y. Another major product exported by KSC during the period were billet and slab. The company exported 725,901 MT and 727,839 MT respectively.
MSC Export decreased by 28% Y-o-Y
Mobarakeh Steel Company, one of the largest steel producer together with its subsidiary company Saba steel has exported 1,051,690 MT steel including hot and cold-rolled, acid-washed, tin-plated, coated, Carved HR Plate and Sheet and galvanized flat steel. Export during the current Persian year was down by 28% Y-o-Y.
Hormozgan Steel Company exported around 1,009,085 MT in current year, witnessed a growth of 9% Y-o-Y. The company only exported slab during the period.
ESCO Exports Rises by 99% Y-o-Y
Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) steel export risen by 99% Y-o-Y. The company exported 1,026,510 MT steel in current Persian year, mainly rebar (129,500 MT), beam (89,407 MT), Wire Rod (59,385 MT) and other steel (748,218 MT).
Other major exporters of steel during the period were South Kaveh steel (SKSCO), the company exported around 0.77 MnT steel in current Persian year. Major products exported by SKSCO includes billet (707,000 MT) and DRI (62,000 MT).
Khorasan Steel exported around 112,852 MT rebar during the period, witnessed a growth of 70% Y-o-Y against around 66,400 MT exported in last Persian year. Iran Alloy Steel Co. exported 63,285 MT rebar in current Persian year and Oxin Steel exported 22,392 MT steel in first 11 months of Persian year.
Major Billet Export Deals during the Period
Khorasan Steel has reportedly received a firm bid for the export of 50,000 MT billet. As per market sources “Khorasan Steel has received a firm bid from a buyer to import 50,000 MT billet with 50% down payment at USD 520 FOB Iran.” This deal is supposed to be an unprecedented sale for Iranian billet makers.
Last week, Esfahan Steel was reported to sell 20,000 MT billet for around USD 515-520/MT to GCC for mid Jun’18 delivery. Last month ESCO has concluded an export deal of 70,000 MT billet at USD 499/MT for May’18 shipment. The destination of shipment was GCC.
SKS has sold billet to MENA at around USD 520/MT. Last month KSC has concluded an export deal at around USD 515-520/MT FOB Iran. Destination for billet export tender is Gulf region.
