Japan: Ferro Alloy Imports Down by 27% M-o-M

According to the Japanese customs, the country witnessed a substantial fall of 27% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

Japan imported 0.16 MnT in Jan’18 against 0.22 MnT in Dec’17. Moreover, on yearly basis, Japanese imports decreased by 6% as it imported 0.17 MnT in Jan’17.

Japanese imports majorly consist of Ferro Chrome at 0.08 MnT in Jan’18, witnessing an increase of 33% M-o-M against 0.06 MnT in Dec’17. Manganese Ore imports by Japan in Jan’18 is 0.03 MnT registering a substantial decrease of 75% against 0.12 MnT in Dec’17 while Ferro Silicon imports by the country were stable at 0.04 MnT.

South Africa remains the largest Ferro Alloy exporter to Japan at 0.07 MnT in Jan’18 recording no change against Dec’17 followed by Kazakhstan and Russia.
