Turkish Steel mills return to scrap market after Ramdan holidays

Turkish steel mills have imported nine batches of scrap since the beginning of this week, amounting to around 320,000 tonnes, while the foreign quotes keep unchanged from previous week.

Of late, 40,000 tonnes were imported from US including HMS 1&2 (80:20), shredded scrap and P&S, with the imported price at US$470/tonne CFR, US$475/tonne CFR and US$480/tonne CFR respectively.

Another 20,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) and P&S were from EU, with the strike price at US$451-466/tonne CFR.

And, the foreign offers to the country stay firm, that US quotes the HMS 1&2 (80:20) at US$470/tonne CFR, the shredded scrap US$475/tonne CFR, Europe offers the HMS 1&2 (80:20) at US$455/tonne CFR, and the A3 scrap from CIS keeps unchanged at US$455-460/tonne CFR.
