According to the recent data released by World Steel Association (WSA),the total crude steel production of 66 steel manufacturing countries moved up marginally by 1% on monthly basis to 139.43 MnT in Jan’18 in comparison to 137.57 MnT in Dec’17.
On yearly basis also world crude steel output inched up slightly by 0.8% in Jan’18 as compared to 138.26 MnT in Jan’17.

China’s crude steel output remained stable in Jan’18 – China’s crude steel output remain unchanged since past two months and stood at 67 MnT in Jan’18.On yearly basis,China’s crude steel production was down slightly by 1% in Jan’18 as compared to 67.6 MnT in Jan’17.

Japan’s crude steel production up by 4% M-o-M in Jan’18 – In Jan’18 nation’s crude steel output increases by 4%,M-o-M basis to 9.03 MnT in Jan’18 against 8.72 MnT in Dec’17. However on yearly basis,nation’s crude steel output remain stable at 9 MnT in Jan’18 and Jan’17.

India’s crude steel output moved up by 3% M-o-M in Jan’18 – According to data released by World Steel Association,India’s crude steel output stood at 9.02 MnT,jumped by 3% M-o-M basis in Jan’18 against 8.79 MnT in Dec’17.However on yearly basis India’s crude steel output edged up by 2.5% in Jan’18 which was 8.8 MnT in Jan’17.

South Korea crude steel output remain unaltered in Jan’18-South Korea’s crude steel production was recorded at 6.12 MnT remain unchanged against previous month’s output On yearly basis,South Korea crude steel output up by 2.6% in Jan’18 against 5.96 MnT in Jan’17.

Crude steel production of other top steel producing countries in month of Jan’18 remained as follows United States (6.8 MnT, up1% M-o-M) ,Russia: 5.70 MnT (-4% M-o-M) ,Brazil: 2.86 MnT (up 1% M-o-M) ,Turkey 3.17 MnT (-3%M-o-M) and Germany 3.7 MnT (up 12%M-o-M).
