Taiwan is the world’s twelfth-largest steel exporter and has exported 8.53 in CY17.However on monthly basis the same witness the rise of 4% in Dec’17 against Nov’17.
As per latest custom data,Taiwan flat steel exports which includes 7208 (HR coils /Plates),7209 (CR coils),7225 (Electrical sheets),7210/7212(GP/GC) witness marginal fall of 1% in CY17.Nation has exported 8.53 MnT of flat steel in CY17 which was summed up-to 8.60 MnT in CY16.
Country’s crude steel production was recorded at 23.2 MnT in CY17 as per World Steel Association against 21.8 MnT in previous year.
On yearly premise nation has procured 0.73 MnT of flat steel in Dec’17 inched down by 3% to 0.75 MnT in same month of previous year.
However,on monthly basis Taiwan flat steel exports moved up marginally by 3% in Dec’17 against Nov’17.In Nov’17 the same was assessed at 0.71MnT.

Vietnam remained largest importer of flat steel from Taiwan in CY17- Vietnam was the major flat steel importer of Taiwan in CY17. Vietnam accounted for 16% of imports in total share (1.40 MnT ) in CY17.
Other major buyers of Taiwan flat steel in CY17 were China at 1.19 MnT (14%),Japan at 0.94 MnT (11%) followed by Malaysia 0.78 MnT ( 9%) and United States at 0.60 MnT (7%).
On monthly basis,Taiwan flat steel exports to Vietnam to 0.12 MnT in Dec’17 moved up 9% as compared to 0.11 MnT in Nov’17. Other importing nations like China which stood at 0.11 MnT in Dec ‘17 higher by 22% against 0.09 MnT in Nov’17.
Japan imported 0.10 MnT flat steel from Taiwan , up by 43% over 0.07 MnT in previous month,followed by Malaysia at 0.05 MnT ,US at 0.04 MnT and Thailand at 0.04 MnT in Dec’17.
