Ukraine Billet Exports Gain Sharply & Recorded Highest, Nov’17

Ukraine, one of the largest semi finished exporter, has exported about 830,000 MT Billet in November 2017, according to trade statistics released by Department State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The exports registered a gain of 45.61% M-o-M in Nov’17 against 570,000 MT in Oct’17. During Nov’17, Italy has imported approximately 40% (330,000 MT) billets from Ukraine.

Further, in the duration of CY17 (Jan- Nov), the country’s total export for billet was at an around 5.64 MnT.

In the month of November 2017, the crude steel production of Ukraine was around 2.00 MnT and in CY17 (Jan-Nov) it was approximately 20.602 MnT. Prior to this it was at 1.94 MnT in Nov’16 & 22.20 MnT in CY16 (Jan-Nov).

Country wise:

During November 2017, the largest importer of Ukraine originated billet was Italy,Algeria & Egypt which imports about 330,000 MT, 160,000 MT & 140,000 MT respectively.

Similarly, in the total billet exports during 2017 (Jan-Nov), the major buyers of Ukrainian billet was – Italy 1.70 MnT (30.16%), Turkey 1.02 MnT (18.16%), Egypt 0.89 MnT (15.87%) & Algeria 0.75 MnT (13.31%) .

1. The export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 510-520/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 500-505/MT FoB Ukraine & 150*150 Q235 are at USD 535-545/MT FoB China.
