Iran Steel Export Increases by 33% Y-o-Y in Current Persian Year

As per the data by IMIDRO, Major Iranian steelmakers managed to export around 5.80 MnT of Steel in first ten months of current Persian year (21 March-2017 till 20 January-2018). Export increased by around 33% Y-o-Y against 4.36 MnT exported last year in same period. Better realization of USD is motivating Iranian producers to focus more on global market.

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC), the largest exporter in Iran

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) was the largest exporter during the period, the company exported around 2.22 MnT steel during the period. The company witnessed a growth of around 46% Y-o-Y against 1.52 MnT steel exported last year same period.

Bloom has the major share in KSC’s export, the company exported 967,262 MT in current Persian year, registered a growth of 150% Y-o-Y. Another major product exported by KSC during the period were billet and slab. The company exported 675,919 MT and 580,714 MT respectively.

MSC Export decreased by 39% Y-o-Y

Mobarakeh Steel Company, one of the largest steel producer together with its subsidiary company Saba steel has exported 880,054 MT steel including hot and cold-rolled, acid-washed, tin-plated, coated, Carved HR Plate and Sheet and galvanized flat steel. Export during the current Persian year was down by 39% Y-o-Y.

MSC’s Subsidiary, Hormozgan Steel Company exported around 945,502 MT in current year, witnessed a growth of 16% Y-o-Y. The company only exported slab during the period.

ESCO Exports Shoot Up by 98% Y-o-Y

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) steel export risen by 95% Y-o-Y. The company exported 920,584 MT steel in current Persian year, mainly rebar (116,998 MT), beam (86,033 MT), Wire Rod (53,599 MT) and other steel (663,954 MT).

Other major exporters of steel during the period were South Kaveh steel (SKSCO), the company exported around 0.64 MnT steel in current Persian year. Major products exported by SKSCO includes billet (618,000 MT) and DRI (27,000 MT).

Khorasan Steel exported around 108,087 MT rebar during the period, witnessed a growth of 98% Y-o-Y against around 54,590 MT exported in last Persian year. Iran Alloy Steel Co. exported 58,993 MT rebar in current Persian year and Oxin Steel exported 15,318 MT steel in first ten months of Persian year.
