The Board of Directors of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of the state-run Coal India Limited (CIL), recently approved the new set of freight rates for coal surface transportation.
The approval followed the decision taken in the board meeting of CIL on 31 Aug’17 in the context of the new surface transportation rates.

The charges will however be revised every six months.
During the Apr-Jan’18 period, MCL produced 113.99 MnT of coal, and that was around 1% higher year-on-year.
