Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is progressively raising its performance standards, as the company’s coal production and dispatch both have crossed the 6-MnT mark for the first time in FY18.
SCCL had reported coal production of 6.39 MnT in Jan’18, which was 13% higher on the month compared with 5.68 MnT in Dec’17. Production had also increased 9% on the yearly basis compared with 5.88 MnT in Jan’17.
As a result of the enormous growth in production, SCCL was able to achieve its production target of 6.225 MnT set for the month. However, the company still lagged the cumulative target of 51.22 MnT coal set for Apr’17-Jan’18, with total production of 48.39 MnT during the period.
SCCL’s coal dispatch increased 3% M-o-M to 6.15 MnT in Jan’18. Dispatch was also 3% higher on the year compared with 5.97 MnT in Jan’17.
Total dispatch in FY18 has seen a growth of 9% Y-o-Y to 52.86 MnT during Apr’17-Jan’18, thereby achieving the target of 51.30 MnT set for the period.
Area-wise Performance in Jan’18:
Out of the total quantity, about 0.711 MnT coal was produced from Underground mining while the remaining 5.68 MnT coal was produced from the Open Cast mining projects.
Coal Production from the Kothagudem area was recorded highest during the month at 1.06 MnT, followed by Ramagundam-II.
Only five areas amongst the 11 mining areas of SCCL had missed their respective production target for the month namely- Bhoopalpalli, Adriyala projects, Bellampalli, Madamarri and Ramagundam-III.
Highest coal dispatch during the month was also recorded from Kothagudem region. Ramagundam-I came second with dispatch of 0.78 MnT coal in Jan’18, followed by Ramagundam-III, Manuguru and Ramagundam-II region.
Coal Supplies to Power Plants:
SCCL Coal supplies to NTPC’s power stations rose 19% M-o-M to 1.34 MnT in Jan’18, compared with 1.128 MnT in Dec’17.
Coal dispatch to its Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP) increased 14% M-o-M to 0.654 MnT during the month.
