Turkey: Imported Scrap Prices Fall in Recent Deals

Imported scrap prices to Turkey fell further in recent deals concluded after witnessing fall of around USD 10/MT last week.

Imported scrap prices have come down further in recent deals concluded today. However, in the opening of this week on Monday, importers in Turkey remained less active with no deal reported in the market.

In a recent deal reported, Galloo recycling company from Belgium sold 39,000 MT cargo to Bastug an Iskenderun region based importer comprising 25,000 MT of HMS (75:25), 7,000 MT of Shredded and 7,000 MT of P&S and HMS1 respectively. The cargo sold at an average price of USD 345/MT, CFR Turkey.

In another deal concluded Camden from US sold HMS 1&2 (80:20) at USD 348/MT, CFR and Bonus scrap at USD 358/MT, CFR Turkey to the major importer in Turkey-ICDAS.

Market participants anticipated that few more cargoes are still remaining for February shipments after which importers are likely to book materials actively for March shipments in Turkey.
