1. Total output of crude steel increased by 5.7% Y-o-Y to 831.73 MnT in CY’17 against 786.88 MnT in CY’16.In Dec’17, China’s crude steel production reached 67.05 million tons, up 1.8% Y-o-Y, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
2. In finished steel exports, China has recorded a significant decrease of 31% Y-o-Y to 75.43 MnT as compared to 108.53 MnT previous year same period.
3. Total pig iron output for CY’17 was increased marginally to 1.8% which was stood at 710.76 MnT against 698.19 MnT in CY’16.
4. Finished steel imports by China registered a marginal increase of 0.6% Y-o-Y in CY17 to 13.3 MnT as compared to 13.22 MnT previous year same period.
