Taiwan: Iron Ore Imports Up 9% in Nov’17

Taiwan has recorded an increase in imports by 9% M-o-M to 1.46 MnT in Nov’17 as against 1.34 MnT in Oct’17.  The Y-o-Y imports witnessed a decline of 39% in Nov’17 as against 2.39 MnT in Nov’16.

During Jan-Nov’17, the country witnessed a marginal increase of 5% to 22.23 MnT as compared to 21.23 MnT previous year same period.

The Non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) witnessed a rise of 8% M-o-M to 1.16 MnT in Nov’17 as against 1.07 MnT in Oct’17. However, it was witnessed a decline of 49% Y-o-Y imports as against 2.28 MnT in Nov’16.

Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) imports recorded an increase of 11% M-o-M to 0.3 MnT in Nov’17 as against 0.27 MnT in Oct’17. However, the Y-o-Y change in Nov’17 witnessed an increase to three times in imports as against 0.1 MnT in Nov’16.

Country-wise Taiwan Iron Ore Imports :
Taiwan’s iron ore import in Nov’17 was recorded highest from Australia which stood at 0.92 MnT (63% share), down by 7% M-o-M as against 0.99 MnT in Oct’17, followed by Brazil at 0.32 MnT (22%) and Canada at 0.22 MnT (15% share).
