World’s second largest exporter of iron ore, Brazil has recorded exports of 32.77 MnT in Dec’17. The exports witnessed a marginal decline of 4% M-o-M in Dec’17 as against 34.15 MnT in Nov’17.
On Y-o-Y basis, iron ore exports from Brazil recorded a decline of 7% in Dec’17 as compared to Dec’16 which stood at 35.12 MnT.
In CY17, Brazil iron ore exports summed up to 383.5 MnT compared to 405.4MnT in CY16.
The average price of the ore edged up to USD 46.7/MT, FoB in Dec’17 compared to USD 44.6/MT in Nov’17. However, the Y-o-Y average price for Dec’17 witnessed a decline of 7% in Dec’17 as against USD 50.4/MT in Dec’16.
