Dispatches of chrome ore by Odisha miners have increased by around 30% in Dec’17 against Nov’17.
Odisha contributes entirely towards Indian Chrome Ore production. TATA Steel, being, one of the largest miners in the region dispatched 1,19,184 MT of chrome ore in Dec’17 against 92,998 MT in Nov’17. The company has witnessed a substantial increase of about 28% in the dispatch of the commodity on M-o-M basis. TATA Steel held 18,158 MT for captive consumption in Dec’17, which is almost similar to what it was in Nov’17.
OMC also recorded a substantial increase of 45% M-o-M in its Dec’17 Chrome Ore dispatches. OMC dispatched 1,31,604 MT of Chrome Ore in Dec’17 against 90,549 MT in Nov’17. Saurabhil Chromite Mines also registered a marginal increase of 9% while B.C. Mohanty & Sons witnessed a decrease of 10% on M-o-M basis in Dec’17.
