>>The Coal Ministry of the Indian government is optimistic in its coal production in 2018. The Ministry expected the coal production in the country to go up by 6-7% in the next year. In the meantime, the Ministry is hopeful of Coal India Limited achieving a production of 600 MnT in FY18.
>> Coal production in Indonesia in 2017 has reached 477 MnT, surpassing the production of 434 MnT by 9.9%.
>> Power prices in India have fallen to around INR 2.9/unit from around INR 5/unit in Sep’17 due to the higher availability of coal, leading to more power generation.
