>>The Russian subsidiary of Tata Power Limited—Far Eastern Resources LLC—has won a mining licence in respect to a Thermal Coal mine at the Kamchatka province in far east Russia. The mine has high quality coal, which the company intends to use at its facilities in Mundra and Trombay and also sell in far east Asian markets.
>>The Association of Power Producers (APP), of India, says that Coal India Limited, and its subsidiaries, supplied excess coal to the state-run power generators during the Apr-Sep’17 period, while, the private power generators were running out of coal. The association also says that coal supplies to the tune of 8.6 MnT were supplied during the period to the state-run power utilities.
>>The Power Ministry of the Government of India has asked the Coal Ministry to issue directives to Coal India Limited to start coal supply to the winners of the contract auctions without waiting for approval from the apex power regulator—Central Electricity Regulatory Authority.
