Russia Pig Iron Exports Decline 69% in October’17 – Customs

Russia, the world’s largest pig iron exporter has exported about 0.21 MnT pig iron during Oct’17, the nation’s custom data showed.

The exports have registered a downfall of 69.11% M-o-M in Oct’17 against 0.68 MnT in Sep’17. During Oct’17, United States has imported approximately 71% (0.15 MnT) of Russian Pig Iron. However it was also noticed that Pig iron import of U.S. from Russia fall by around 67% M-o-M against 0.45 MnT in Sept’17.

Similarly, fall is being reported in the first 10 months of CY17 by 15.52% as the country’s total exports was reported at 3.59 MnT during Jan-Oct’17 against same preceding CY16 at 4.25 MnT. In line, on yearly premises the exports slump in Oct’17 by 56.25% from 0.48 MnT in Oct’16.

Unload Countries

In Oct’17 United States & Taiwan accounted the highest quantity of pig iron exports from Russia. While no major imports of pig iron seen in the month by Turkey, Italy & Spain from Russia.

In CY17 (Jan-Oct) – United States, Turkey, Italy & Spain was the major buyer of Russian made pig iron which imported about 2.36 MnT, 0.34 MnT, 0.21 MnT & 0.18 MnT, respectively.

In context to export prices, global offers for steel grade pig Iron is assessed at USD 345-350/MT FOB India & USD 355-365/MT FOB Russia
