Indian Manganese Ore Imports Down by 7% in Nov’17

India imported around 0.28 MnT of Manganese Ore in Nov’17 against 0.30 MnT in Oct’17.

According to Customs data, Indian Manganese Ore imports have marginally gone down by 7% M-o-M to 0.28 MnT in Nov’17, as compared to 0.30 MnT in Oct’17.

On Y-o-Y basis, India’s Manganese Ore imports rose massively by 133% in Nov’17 against Nov’16. In Nov’16 the same stood at 0.12 MnT.

India relies heavily on Manganese Ore imports, and half of its Manganese Ore requirement is fulfilled through imported Ore. South Africa remained the largest exporter of Manganese Ore to India in Nov’17 at 0.14 MnT, witnessing a fall of 30% M-o-M. Australia and Gabon exported a volume of 0.05 MnT and 0.06 MnT respectively.
