Truck owners oppose Odisha govt's proposal to ban ore transportation through truck

In a move to check the alleged illegal iron ore
transportation, Odisha government has proposed to ban iron ore transportation
in truck. The decision has been sharply criticized and created a resentment
among truck owners and their associations. 

Protesting state government’s endeavor, truck owners and three major truck
owners associations held an urgent meeting at Paradeep on Sunday and decided to
oppose the government’s proposal to ban transportation of minerals in truck and
requested government to roll back the decision. 

Truck owners fumed the proposal of state government and will certainly affect
livelihood of thousands of truck owners and its dependants. Paradeep truck
owner’s association president Sumant Biswal, Rajesh Kumar Jena, Sanjaya Kumar
Samantray leaders from other truck associations took part in the meeting.
