Russia, world’s largest exporter of billet from CIS nations, has exported 1.30 MnT Billet in October 2017.
According to customs, the nation has reported a gain of 22.64% M-o-M in Oct’17 against 1.06 MnT in Sep’17. Taiwan has imported approximately 25% (0.35 MnT) billet from Russia and remains in the top , followed by Turkey(19%) & Mexico (17%).
Further, on yearly premises, billet exports decline by 4.41% in Oct’17 against 1.36 MnT in Oct’16. Similarly, in the first 10 months of CY17 (Jan-Oct’17), Billet exports declined marginally by 4.40% to 11.73 MnT against 12.27 MnT in same preceding CY16.
During CY 2017 (Jan-Oct), the major buyers of Russian Billets was – Taiwan, followed by Turkey which remained second largest importer of Russian billet and imported around 2.02 MnT which is 17.18% to total billet exports. Inline Mexico 1.66 MnT (14.16%), Belgium 1.35 MnT (11.47%) & Egypt at 0.71 MnT (6.03%).
As per the SteelMint’s assessment of export prices, the export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 490-500/MT FoB India & 150*150, Q235 are at USD 550-560/MT FoB China.
