South Korea: Iron Ore Imports Fall Marginally in Nov’17

South Korea has witnessed reduction in imports by 2% M-o-M to 5.99 MnT in Nov’17 as against 6.14 MnT in Oct’17. The Y-o-Y imports witnessed a decline of 4% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 as against 6.25 MnT in Nov’16.

The Y-o-Y iron ore imports from Jan-Nov’17 increased by 2%  climbing to 66.28 MnT in Nov’17 as against 65.03 MnT previous year same period.

An agglomerated iron ore (pellets and concentrate) imports were down by 33% M-o-M to 0.41 MnT in Nov’17 against 0.61 MnT in Oct’17. The Y-o-Y change depicted a rise of 37% as compared to 0.3 MnT in Nov’16.

A non-agglomerated iron ore (lumps & fines) imports has increased marginally by 1% M-o-M  to 5.57 MnT in Nov’17 compared to Oct’17 which stood  at 5.53 MnT. However, it was down by 6% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 as against 5.94 MnT in Nov’16.

Country-wise South Korea Iron Ore import-:

Australia continues to remain largest iron ore exporter to South Korea in Nov’17 and it exported 4.13 MnT iron ore, followed by Brazil 1.37 MnT and South Africa 0.2 MnT.
