Ukraine Billet Exports Incline 11% in Sep-2017

Ukraine has exported about 410,000 MT Billet in September 2017, according to the trade statistics released by Department State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

The exports registered gain of 10.81% M-o-M in Sep’17 against 370,000 MT in Aug’17. During Sep’17, Turkey has imported the largest volume of approximately 29.26 % (120,000 MT) billets from Ukraine, followed by Italy & Egypt which imports about 100,000 MT & 60,000 MT respectively.

Further, in the duration of CY17 (Jan- Sep), the country’s total export for billet was at  around 4.24 MnT and the major buyers of Ukrainian billet in this duration was – Italy 1.23 MnT (28.96%), Turkey 0.89 MnT (21.07%), Egypt 0.69 MnT (16.16%) & Algeria 0.40 MnT (9.54%).

In the month of Oct’17, the crude steel production of Ukraine was 1.91 MnT surged 3.24% against 1.85 MnT in Sep’17 and in CY17(Jan-Sep) it was approximately 18.33 MnT. Prior to this it was at 24.23 MnT in CY16 & 22.97 MnT in CY15.

1. The export offers of 150*150 IS 2830 grade billet are currently at USD 490-495/MT FoB India, 125*125 3SP at USD 505-510/MT FoB Ukraine & 150*150 Q235 are at USD 555-560/MT FoB China.

2. As per the sources, Ukrainian Rebar gets anti dumping duty detailed by Egypt’s Ministry of Trade & Industries last week and Mills have to pay 27% Duty as of their product’s CFR value for a period of five years.
