Brazil: Manganese Ore Exports Down by 18% M-o-M in Nov’17

According to the Brazilian customs, the country has witnessed a substantial decrease of 18% M-o-M in its Manganese Ore exports.

Brazilian Manganese Ore export in Nov’17 was at 0.31 MnT against 0.38 MnT in Oct’17. However, on yearly basis, Brazilian Manganese Ore exports reflected a marginal increase of 3% as it was 0.3 MnT in Nov’16.

China’s Appetite for Brazilian Manganese Ore

China stands out to be the largest importer of Brazilian manganese ore, importing 0.24 MnT in Nov’17, followed by Uruguay at 0.06 MnT and South Korea at 0.01 MnT the only three countries that imported Manganese Ore from Brazil in Nov’17. China imported more than 75% of the total Manganese Ore exported by Brazil. However, in Nov’17 China witnessed a substantial M-o-M decrease of 20% in its Manganese Ore imports from Brazil.

A slow steel market in China has affected Manganese ore demand and offers adversely. Global Manganese Ore prices recently witnessed a marginal downward correction.
