SCCL: Coal Production Up 11% M-o-M in Nov’17

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has reported an increase of 11% in monthly coal production while dispatch during the same period has rose to the highest monthly total for FY18.

SCCL’s coal production was 4.49 MnT in Nov’17 against 4.04 MnT in Oct’17. On the yearly basis, Coal production was 20% lower than the level achieved during Nov’16.

Total coal produced during the Apr’17-Nov’17 period stood 36.32 MnT, which was marginally short of the coal output of 36.47 MnT achieved during the same period in FY17.

SCCL’s coal dispatch has increased 12% M-o-M to 5.70 MnT in Nov’17 which was also the highest monthly total for FY18. Moreover, coal dispatch was 4% higher on the year compared with 5.1 MnT in Nov’16.

Monthly coal dispatch has been rising on the Y-o-Y basis since the beginning of the fiscal FY18.Total coal dispatch has increased 11% to 40.75 MnT during Apr’17-Nov’17, compared with 36.72 MnT in Apr’16-Nov’16.

Area-wise Coal Production in Nov’17:
Out of the total quantity, about 0.66 MnT coal was produced from Underground coal mining while the remaining 3.83 MnT coal was produced from the Open Cast mining projects.

Coal Production from the Kothagudem area was recorded highest during the month at 0.90 MnT, followed by Ramagundam-III. Only both these mining areas have achieved their respective production target for the month amongst the 11 mining areas of SCCL.

Highest coal dispatch during the month was also recorded from Kothagudem region. Ramagundam-I came second with dispatch of 0.75 MnT coal in Nov’17 followed by Ramagundam-III, Manuguru and Ramagundam-II region.

Coal Supplies to NTPC: SCCL’s coal supplies to NTPC power plants’ rose 13% on the month to 1.19 MnT in Nov’17 which 1.05 MnT in Oct’17.
