Billet market was almost quiet during week 46 in Iran, Market opened at around USD 453/MT on Saturday. Price further went down on Sunday to USD 445/MT. Limited supply level made the prices to go up on Monday and Tuesday.
Prices remained stable during mid-week and went down to around USD 453/MT towards the end of week.
The margin between Scrap and Billet was almost around USD 106-115/MT. The main reason for price fall of billet was basically because of low supply of DRI and Scrap in the market. The margin of billet maker is in its lowest point. So, if the scrap continues to hike, billet price may rise in current week.
On other hand KSC has not offered in IME for a long time so it has given some space for IF billet makers to maintain their levels.
