Taiwan: Iron Ore Imports Up 11% M-o-M in Sep’17

 

Taiwan has recorded rise in imports by 11% M-o-M to 2.3 MnT in Sep’17 as against 2.08 MnT in Aug’17. On quarterly premises, Taiwan iron ore imports have increased by 4% to 6.67 MnT in Q3 CY17 against 6.42 MnT in Q2 CY17.

The Y-o-Y change from Jan-Sep’17 of the country has seen a a hike of 16% to 19.43 MnT as compared to the same period previous year (Jan-Sep’16) to 16.69 MnT.

The Non-agglomerated ore (Lumps and Fines) witnessed a decline of 2% to 1.92 MnT in Sep’17 as against 1.96 MnT in Aug’17, and a hike of 33% Y-o-Y as against 1.44 MnT in Sep’16.

Agglomerated ore (pellets and concentrates) recorded an increase of more than two times in M-o-M imports to 0.37 MnT in Sep’17 as against 0.12 MnT in Aug’17. The import was up more than three times Y-o-Y in as compared to Sep’16 which stood at 0.09 MnT.

Country-wise Taiwan Iron Ore Imports:

Taiwan’s iron ore import in Sep’17 was recorded highest from Australia which stood at 1.79 MnT, followed by Brazil at 0.51 MnT.
