South Korea: Ferro Alloy Imports Down by 22% M-o-M in Oct’17

According to the South Korean customs, the country has witnessed a decrease of 22% M-o-M in its Ferro Alloy imports.

In Oct’17, South Korea imported a total of 0.07 MnT Ferro Alloys against 0.09 MnT in Sep’17. However, on yearly basis, there has been no change as South Korea imported 0.07 MnT in Oct’16 as well.

In Oct’17, Korea imported 0.04 MnT of Ferro Chrome, 0.02 MnT Ferro Silicon, and 0.01 MnT Ferro Silicon. South Korea registered a substantial fall of 20% and 33% M-o-M in its Ferro Chrome and Ferro Silicon imports respectively, while Silicon Manganese import volume remained stable.

India surpassed South Africa to become the largest ferroalloy exporter to South Korea at 0.02 MnT in Oct’17. South Africa, China, and Russia exported relatively similar volume of 0.01 MnT to South Korea during the period.
