According to the vessel-line up data compiled by CoalMint Research, Australian Non-Coking coal shipment has fallen to its lowest value since Feb’17.Exports have declined 11% M-o-M to 11.94 MnT in Oct’17, compared with 13.37 MnT in Sep’17.
Out of the total quantity, Newcastle port had handled 11.68 MnT coal during the month, while the remaining coal was exported from the Port Kemble.
During the first 10 months of the CY17 (Jan’17-Oct’17), total non-coking coal exports stood 134.99 MnT, which is approximately 46% of the total coal exported by Australia.
Major Coal Importers:
Japan maintained its dominance as the top non-coking coal receiver from Australia, with imports of 5.81 MnT in Oct’17. Imports from the country had increased 2% M-o-M compared with 5.72 MnT in Sep’17.
China overtook South Korea to become the second-largest Non-coking coal importer. Chinese imports rose 46% M-o-M to 1.92 MnT during the month.
Taiwan retains the number 3 spot among the major non-coking coal importers, however, imports from the country fell 21% to 1.49 MnT n Oct’17.
Indian non-coking coal import was 11% lower on the month, recorded at 0.21 MnT in Oct’17.
South Korea, Thailand, New Caledonia, Malaysia and Philippines were the other major Non-Coking coal importers during the month.
